Lorelight

An edge-lit panel that lies over one page and lights only that page — so you can read in bed without waking the person beside you. Lift it off the book and it stands on its base bar as a bedside lamp.

What it actually does.

The Lorelight panel lying flat across an open page, lighting the paper evenly edge to edge

It lies flat, over one page

Eleven by eight inches and thin enough to sit inside a closed book, so it covers the page rather than clipping to the cover. You move it when you turn the page; there is nothing to clamp, adjust or re-aim.

The panel lifted off the book and standing upright on a nightstand, glowing softly as a bedside lamp

Then it stands up as a lamp

Lift it off the book and the base bar holds it upright on the nightstand. That is why it is a bedside lamp that happens to read a page, rather than a book light that happens to stand.

Warm enough to sleep after

3000K for bedtime, 4000K natural, 6000K for small print — one button cycles them. Dimming is stepless from full down to a quarter, and a timer from one to ninety-nine minutes turns it off if you fall asleep mid-chapter.

One page lit. The rest of the bed dark.

A phone’s cold glare washing across the pillow beside you in a dark bedroom
Any other light Reaches the whole bed.
The Lorelight’s warm light resting only on the open page, the pillow beside it left dark
Lorelight Stops at the edge of the page.

Three finishes.

The panel and the light are identical across all three. Only the base bar changes.

The Lorelight in black, floating on black, glowing warm
Black Vanishes entirely; only the page glows.

Questions

When will it arrive?

It ships directly from our maker rather than through a warehouse in between, so it takes about 2–3 weeks to reach you. You’ll get a tracking link the moment it ships. If you’re buying it as a gift, give it a little runway.

Will it wake the person next to me?

The light lives inside the panel and pours down onto the page, so there’s no lamp glare on the pillow and no cone of light on the ceiling. From their side there’s almost nothing to see. If it turns out otherwise, that is what the 30 nights are for.

How is it different from a clip-on book light?

A clip light is a torch on a peg — it beams up off the cover, which is where the glare comes from, and it is the size of your thumb. This is an eleven-inch lit panel that lies flat across the page and sends light down through it, and it stands up as a lamp when you are done. Different object, not a better clip.

Warm or harsh?

Your choice, and it changes with one button. Warm at 3000K for bedtime, natural at 4000K, or a crisp white at 6000K for small print. Dim any of them as low as you like.

Battery and charging?

1200 mAh, charged over USB-C in about three hours. Depending on brightness you’ll get somewhere between five and thirty-five hours of reading, and it remembers your last setting.

What if I don’t love it?
